Harold and Kumar ROCKS.....

Location: New Student Union
Time: 7:00 PM
Guests: You name the DESI (everyone you possibly can imagine) and the rest of the American Junta...
Event: Special screening of Harold and Kumar go to White Castle

The movie can be summed up in 2-3 words...Hilarious..Outrageous..

Kal Penn and John Cho rocked the movie theatre yesterday with a brilliant display of absolute slapstick comedy..Too good acting by the awesome twosome..Kal Penn continues his comic sense creativity after American Desi..

Whoever saw the movie yesterday couldnt stop laughing about the crazy antics that was in the offering..Some may label it as just another college flick but this certainly was Zara Hatke...Not for family viewing though :) If you think that White Castle might sound like a fairy tale, you are in for a unconventional shock...

Talking about movies, the other day just saw one of my favorite movies..Broken Arrow...If Quentin Tarantino is GOD for Hemant, John Woo is the King of Gods when it comes to style and attitude..the best part about Woo's movies are that the villians are presented with so much screen presence that the hero looks like a mere mortal...JT rocks in both his movies (Face Off is the other one)..

India vs Sri Lanka final..Heavy favorites seem to be SL but you never know whats going to happen..May the best team win...Hope its India on the day..

Back to work for a little while now :)..

Laters then..

There seems to be a burst of Indian restaurants in the Akron-Cleveland area nowadays....The most preferred of them seems to Royal Indian Cuisine in Twinsburg...Its taking the buffet system to a new level by offering Lunch and Dinner buffets at reasonable prices...Plus they have the
distinction of being the only ones to offer chaat items..

Just went there today for the third time in as many months and i must admit they have come a long way from offering tasteless food to some amazing cuisine...No wonder the name stands at Royal Indian.

Asia Cup underway and for all those in Akron, Suneel and Co. does seem to have an upperhand thanks to Rahul Dravid's 100 vs. UAE..Brijesh and Co. might argue that it was an easy opposition but then if it was an easy
opposition, how come the rest of the famed indian batting lineup
struggled...Good debate..Kill yourselves while coming to a reasonable
conclusion :)

Akron CC faces WVU on Sunday...Rewind to last year, there was a bad
outcome for Akron as they lost by 1 run...hope people are all geared up
this time to come out on tops against Sohail Choudary's team....Go
Zips...

Time to look out for a good car...Any suggestions are welcome..By the way, car search is limited to Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi...

Help me out...

Master of Science..

Thursday, July 8th and Friday, July 9th happened to be the days when we (myself and Avinash) had our MS thesis defenses and boy!!!! does it feel good to have that burden off our shoulders...barring few corrections in our theses we now can safely be called Rajesh Anantharaman M.S. and Avinash Baji M.S., Biomedical Engineering...Jay is soon to be a Master of Science as he defends on the 14th of July.

Coincidentally, our proposal dates were also November 24th and November 25th..the defense dates were very appropriate in the manner in which we joined Calhoun lab during late august of 2002 when we had just come to Akron in pursuit of a Master's degree with full funding..Avinash was the first person to join my advisor, followed by me and in the next couple of months Mritunjay had also become a part of the BIOMECHANICS GANG...with no funding in sight for the fall semester and bleak chances of it in the spring semester too..we carried on with our side-projects in the lab..in the meantime, our prof, by now most of you would know his name, Dr Njus tried real hard to get us funding..We finally got it during fall of 2003..

All credit should deservedly go to our advisor, who after coming back from a horrific accident, has done everything in his abilities to see all 4 of his students defend in a space of 6 days..hats off to him..

Its party time at the Sumner household, but just for a few days as corrections, signatures and job search take first priority..

As someone rightly said, enjoy your day in the sun..we are in the process of doing the same..

Thanx everyone for wishing us for our defenses..we appreciate it..
